One needs to be across the top, the second at the bottom. Reduce the smaller of the two measurements by up to 5mm. The wall brackets (provided with each set of railings) are adjustable but if you reduced size by 5mm you would have a 2.5mm gap either side. Therefore, the more accurate the measurement, the better the fit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf the span is too large for a single railing, measure the total width as above. The maximum size we recommend for a single railing is 2m. Each post is 40mm wide. Therefore, if your opening was: 5m 720mm you would require 3 x railings and 2 x posts. First, reduce the size by the posts (2 x 40mm) = 5m 640mm then divide by 3 = 1m 880mm.
